Advancing Civil Rights Across New Mexico
The New Mexico State Conference of the NAACP unites branches across the state in the fight for political, educational, social, and economic equality for all.
Young people have always been at the heart of the civil rights movement. If you’re under 25, join an NAACP Youth Council or College Chapter in New Mexico. Lead campaigns, register voters, compete in ACT-SO, and build the future you want to see.
Your Voice. Your Vote. Your Future.

Closing gaps in health care access and outcomes, and addressing housing and food insecurity in our communities.
-
Promoting fair lending, good jobs, and Black business growth so every family can build wealth.
-
Supporting youth councils, college chapters, and ACT-SO to develop New Mexico’s next civil rights leaders.
Who We Are
The New Mexico State Conference coordinates the work of NAACP branches and youth units across the state. We support local branches, advocate on statewide policy, host the annual State Conference, and connect New Mexico communities to the national NAACP movement.
Our roots run deep. The Albuquerque Branch was formally recognized in 1915, one of the oldest NAACP chapters in the nation, and New Mexico NAACP leaders helped end school segregation and win the 1952 Albuquerque Civil Rights Ordinance. Learn More
